Onaping Falls Winter Carnival
For over 60 years, the Winter Carnival's in Onaping Falls have welcomed thousands of local families to spend a weekend playing and having fun together in the winter time. This annual event takes place the first weekend in February.
Onaping Falls Summer Fest
This summer time event welcomes families to spend a day having fun together while fundraising for the OFRC. Summer Fest brings the community together with fun activities for the whole family such as inflatable obstacle courses, BBQ, games, live animal presentations, vendors and more. All proceeds raised from Summer Fest go to our local projects in the community.
A.Y. Jackson Lookout & Summer Student Program
In 2019, we partnered with the City of Greater Sudbury’s Tourism Department to re-open the A.Y. Jackson Lookout facilities for the summer season.
Known locally as High Falls, the A.Y. Jackson Lookout offers a truly unique and memorable experience. As a site connected to A.Y. Jackson and the Group of Seven, it holds significant cultural and artistic value. With the Group of Seven heavily promoted across multiple platforms, it is essential that this Lookout continues to operate as a high-quality, well-maintained destination that meets visitor expectations and encourages longer stays in the region.
We are proud to have been recipients of the Canada Summer Jobs Program through the Government of Canada for the past seven years. This support allows us to employ four to five summer students annually as ambassadors for Onaping Falls. Our Tourist Liaisons welcome visitors, collect visitation data and points of origin, and provide meaningful engagement that enhances the visitor experience.
In addition, with the support of our summer staff, the Onaping Falls Recreation Committee (OFRC) delivers weekly, free community activities at the Lookout, ensuring the site serves not only as a tourism asset but also as an accessible and vibrant community gathering space.
Onaping Falls Power Skating Program
This fun, fast-paced skating program takes place annually in late September or early October at the I.J. Coady Memorial Arena in Levack. It is designed to give skaters a head start on the upcoming skating season. This program is open to all skaters 15 years and under in hockey or ringuette.
Breakfast with Santa
This fantastic annual event happens the first Sunday in December and welcomes families from Onaping Falls to a FREE meet, greet and pictures with Santa including a pancake breakfast, letters to the North Pole, craft table and more.
